Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski’s honorary citizenship at Cafe Zadymka

There is a new spot on the map of Bielsko-Biala for those who wish to stay up-to-date with art and culture – the Zadymka Café / Connoisseur’s Zone (Café Zadymka / Sfera Konesera). From now this has also become a regular place where our amplifiers are proudly presented. The opening of the venue came in parallel with proclaiming Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski an Honorary Citizen of Bielsko-Biala.

The initiator of the idea of creating a music cafe combined with an art gallery was Jerzy Batycki, who is the Director of the Lotos Jazz Festival Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa festival. The cafe is located in the Sfera Shopping Center, which is situated right in the very center of the city.

Although the gallery practically started during the summer holidays 2019, the official inauguration took place on September 24th, 2019 and coincided which was also the date when Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski (wiki) was proclaimed the Honorary Citizen of Bielsko Biała.

Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, an excellent Polish jazz musician, composer, arranger, conductor, journalist and music critic, has been continuously working for 21 years in the artistic council of the Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa festival. He opens most of the concerts, as the anchorman and being so involved and generous in using his international reputation and great authority, has enormous contribution to promotion of Bielsko-Biała.

As officially reasoned in the Honorary Citizenship voting at the City Council

After the official ceremonies in the Town Hall, the less formal part continued at the Zadmka Cafe. Young musicians together with a talented young sax player Marta Wajdzik, gave a short performance in front of the saxophone master – Jan Ptaszyn-Wróblewski. Before that, however, the Mayor of Bielsko-Biała, Mr. Jarosław Klimaszewski, was presented with a photograph, with the great artist’s own signature. The photo was taken during one of the “Zadymka” concerts by a photographer Mr Krzysztof Grabowski, who is a co-owner and brand manager of the EGG-SHELL amplifier brand.
